Leicester City make second bid for Marseille’s Bouna Sarr
Leicester City have made their second bid for Olympique de Marseille right-back Bouna Sarr, as per RMC Sport.
The Foxes have already had a starting offer worth €3 million rejected by Marseille; however, it is now being reported that Leicester have submitted an improved €5 million offer.
Contrary to what is being suggested, the Les Olympiens’ manager, Rudi Garcia, dismissed any speculation surrounding the 25-year old, making it clear that the player isn’t for sale.
Speaking after his side’s 2-0 win over Strasbourg on Tuesday, he said:
"“My squad is at a minimum. Apart from (centre-back) Doria, we do not expect any departures. Bouna Sarr, there is never any question that he leaves.“Sarr has produced very good performances but he must not relax. He is 100 per cent Marseille and if he is to succeed, it will be in that position. He has a very good career as a right-back in front of him.”"
Primarily an attacker who can operate centrally as well as out wide, Founa Sarr has been deployed as a right-back this season in all of his 20 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit.
Of course, there’s hardly any room for doubt as to where would he be played by Claude Puel, with Leicester City eyeing him as competition for Danny Simpson and Daniel Amartey – who isn’t a natural right-back either.

Shall things go as expected, Bouna Sarr will become Leicester City’s second signing of the January transfer window after Fousseni Diabate, who they signed from Ligue 2 side Gazelec Ajaccio for an undisclosed fee. For the moment, however, Puel has refused to talk about any of the potential arrivals, maintaining that he’ll only sign a player if he can add something to what he feels is a pretty good squad already.
Speaking ahead of Leicester City’s fixture against Watford this Saturday, he said:
"“No, we are not close for the moment to signing other players,.“I think we work normally in this transfer window and it’s important to keep our focus about our transfer window.“I think it’s important to keep this squad because it’s fantastic and it has a positive attitude.“Of course if we can improve the squad we will sign a player but for the moment it’s not like this.”"

The 56-year old also commented on Islam Slimani and Riyad Mahrez’s situations, revealing that while the former Sporting CP striker could be on the move with Besiktas lining up a bid for him, his Algerian teammate will stay in all probability. Well, we shall see.
