Wilfred Ndidi: World class

The rate at which Wilfred Ndidi is making strides towards being one of the world’s best defensive midfielders is, mirabile dictu, much better than what anyone else would have thought. Today was yet another day when he made the middle of the park his own and enjoyed doing the dirty work as usual.

What has been the most notable during his excellent run is his passing, one attribute that had really let him down in recent times; however, that’s not the case anymore, with the Nigerian getting better and better at moving the ball.

Ndidi had a pass success percentage of about 80% against Watford, seven interceptions, five clearances and won a couple of aerial duels to go with it, per WhoScored, and it’s no wonder that BBC Leicester Sport’s Matt Elliott gave him his man of the match award. He said:

"“He’s developing his game. He’s becoming a top-class midfielder”."

We can all agree with that.
