Chelsea and AS Monaco have joined the long list of clubs interested in signing Islam Slimani from Leicester City, according to multiple sources.

Sky Sources understand that the French champions would be looking to add him to their ranks this transfer window, having failed in their pursuit last summer.

AS Monaco were the apparent favourites for the Algerian’s signature following the loan move of Kylian Mbappe to Paris Saint-Germain; however, the transfer never really materialised and Islam Slimani had to stay put.

Alongside Monaco are Chelsea, who appear to be going after every other centre-forward that’s available in the market – and why not if you are struggling to find a way past Norwich.

As per an exclusive report from The Times, the Blues would be willing to strike a loan deal for the Leicester wantaway, meaning that he’d become the third Leicester City player in as many years to move to Chelsea, after N’Golo Kante and Danny Drinkwater opted for the comforts of the Stamford Bridge. Antonio Conte’s side have been linked with Jamie Vardy in recent times as well.

For a player who is completely unwanted at his own club, strangely, Besiktas, Newcastle United and Watford are also rumoured to be wanting Islam Slimani, with the Turkish outfit already in talks with Leicester City over a potential deal, per Sky Sports.
