Leicester City are eyeing AS Monaco’s Almamy Toure as they continue to look for a decent right-back to add to their squad.

As per the latest reports from France, the Foxes have him lined up as the go-to man, shall they fail in their pursuit of Marseille’s Bouna Sarr. Leicester have already had two bids rejected for the 25-year old, the latest of which was £4.5 million.

While Sarr remains Claude Puel’s no.1 target, the hopes of signing him from the Ligue 1 outfit have somewhat faded away, meaning that Leicester City may well step up in their chase of Almamy Toure.

The 21-year old has mostly played second fiddle to Djibril Sidibe, who remains Leonardo Jardim’s favoured man for the right-back position. Toure has made 15 appearances this season, starting in 12 of them, and assisting four goals in the process – a reflection of how effective he can be whenever given a chance.

A target for Huddersfield Town as well, Almamy Toure has a contract with the French champions till 2019; however, the lack of appearances and a regular run in the league could well do Leicester City a world of good if they are genuinely interested. Not only would Toure provide good competition for Danny Simpson and Daniel Amartey, he’d also be the ideal long-term option at the King Power Stadium.

Meanwhile, Leicester City’s new signing Fousseni Diabate, signed from Gazelec Ajaccio for an undisclosed fee (good luck memorising that name), could make his debut against Peterborough in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
