Nine changes, same old Leicester City

As the Leicester City XI to face Peterborough United were named, most of us took it as it was supposed to be, but a certain Paul Merson, Sky Sports’ Magic Man, was fairly critical of Claude Puel’s decision to make those many changes, accusing him of not taking the FA Cup seriously.

Well, the team had a three-time Europa League winner in Vicente Iborra, a UEFA Euro 2016 winner in Adrien Silva and two title-winners in Christian Fuchs and Danny Simpson. The former Arsenal player’s comments didn’t make sense then, and they don’t make sense now either.

Despite a whooping nine changes, Leicester City proved their manager right (and someone wrong), and every player put out on the pitch never looked short of game time, which most of the them were. Safe to say, Puel must have a few magic tricks up his sleeves.
