Leicester City take on Peterborough United in a bid to advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The Foxes are unbeaten in their last five games and are yet to concede a single goal this year, a run they’ll look to maintain as they travel to the ABAX Stadium. While there’s no doubt that the FA Cup does continue to be a priority for Leicester City, it’s Claude Puel would have to decide just how big a priority the cup competition is – if at all.

Put differently, there are two ways of going about a low intensity cup fixture: You go all in with your strongest XI, or you go with the kind of team that you “think” (and hope) would have enough in it to beat the opponent, which will have always have a sense of foreboding about it.

Now, Leicester City have a midweek fixture against Everton to take care of as well, and the way they are surging in the Premier League table, Puel wouldn’t want to put out tired legs at Goodison Park.

Man to watch

Fousseni Diabate looks set to make his Leicester City debut if we go by Claude Puel’s words. The Foxes’ boss has heaped praise onto the man from Gazelec Ajaccio, and the expectations are fairly high already.

The 22-year old will have loads of eyes on him if he gets to step onto the pitch.

Quotes

"“We are aware of Peterborough’s strengths,” said Claude Puel.“They play good football and they have a striker in form in Jack Marriott and a very talented attacking player in Marcus Maddison.“They showed their standard in the last round at Aston Villa. We will have to play well to win.”"
