Arsenal have reportedly joined Manchester City in a £95 million chase for Leicester City rebel Riyad Mahrez, according to the Daily Star.

The Gunners have revived their interest in the Algerian and would be willing to meet Leicester’s demands to get the man who they have been chasing for about three seasons now. However, they won’t only have to fight the Citizens here, with Liverpool and Chelsea involved in this war, too.

Currently AWOL, Riyad Mahrez would welcome the news of the Premier League’s big boys preparing for a full-on battle in the summer for his vaunted signature. But before that, they’d obviously need him to come back from wherever he is and ease himself into the Leicester City squad to get playing again. No one’s buying a rusty, thin-legged winger for £95 million.

The 26-year old was the subject of as many as four bids from Manchester City on the final two days of the January transfer window, but the Foxes rejected every single one of those as they felt that the league leaders’ offer was too low.

As has been since revealed, Leicester demanded a British record £95 million for Riyad Mahrez, but Manchester City only offered £65 million plus a player before pulling out of the deal late on Deadline Day.

Obviously, that didn’t go down well with Mahrez, who claims to have been promised a smooth exit from the King Power Stadium. However, it has been quite the opposite so far.

The former Le Havre winger has now seen two clubs come and go empty handed, the first one being AS Roma back in the summer, who also saw all three of their bids rejected.
