Leicester City rebel Riyad Mahrez has been a branded a “big baby” for his antics by former England and Blackburn Rovers striker Chris Sutton.

Sutton has joined the long list of people who have something to add to the ongoing Mahrez saga, as the winger missed training yet again, choosing to stay put wherever in the world he is.

Chris Sutton hasn’t exactly shown any sympathy whatsoever, tearing into the 26-year old wantaway for not respecting his contract and acting like he has.

Talking about Riyad Mahrez on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club, he said:

"“He’s a big baby isn’t he? Leicester has put him on the map.“He’s disappointed not to go to a bigger club, I understand that, but he has to see out his contract – so get on with it.“He is letting his managers and his team-mates down.”"

Well, Chris Sutton is definitely not a fan, unlike many others who have supported Riyad Mahrez’s decision to force the issue. The player is understood to be fairly depressed with the way City have acted, so much so that even the PFA is now ready to step in to help the player recover from a second failed transfer in as many transfer windows.

Leicester demanded a British record £95 million for Riyad Mahrez (just double of what they demanded from AS Roma when they bid close to £38 million back in the summer), but Manchester City only offered £65 million plus a player before pulling out of the deal late on Deadline Day. Obviously, that didn’t go down well with Mahrez, who claims to have been promised a smooth exit from the King Power Stadium. However, it has been quite the opposite so far.

As the player’s absence continues, Leicester City, meanwhile, have a game to play on Saturday against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
