Harry Maguire is aiming to win the FA Cup with Leicester City this season.

The Foxes beat Sheffield United 1-0 to make it to the quarter-final of the FA Cup and are now due to face last season’s finalists Chelsea in the next round.

This is the second quarter-final that Claude Puel’s side would be playing in this season, having made it to the same stage in the Carabao Cup, as league leaders Manchester City beat them on penalties in the replay at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester would now hope to go one better this time around, and maybe go all the way. Well, that’s what Harry Maguire is aiming for anyway. Speaking of his aspirations this season, he said:

"“It is a big competition, especially for teams like ourselves.“We wanted to get through and we have done that, thankfully. We did enough to win the game, but we missed a lot of chances, we could have made it more comfortable for ourselves.“At the moment you can see the top six in the Premier League running away with it, the amount of money etc they have got behind them. There’s two leagues forming at the moment.“A competition like the FA Cup is such a big thing and we want to go and try to win it.”"

Harry Maguire also discussed and defended Claude Puel’s decision to make wholesale changes against Peterborough United. A lot of the pundits were quick to accuse the Frenchman of a lack of respect for the competition; however, Maguire thinks that it was right to rest first-choice players because of the hectic schedule.

"“As you have seen this week, we play Friday and we don’t play until Saturday so there is no excuse to change it around.“Around Christmas time, you can’t moan at any manager if they want to change and swap the team around because we have got 20-odd Premier League players who are all good enough.“When you do go and play teams in the leagues below, you should still have enough to go and win.”"

Leicester City are certainly in with a chance to win the FA Cup this season, especially if we consider the fact that their next opponents could be someone from the big six and in the UEFA Champions League’s advanced stages.

Shall Leicester make it past the quarter-final, then it’s no doubt that Claude Puel would be willing to prioritise the FA Cup over the Premier League, something that someone like, say, Manchester United or Manchester City may not be able to do.
