Leicester City reportedly sent scouts to watch Benfica duo Andre Almeida and Rafa Silva, per multiple outlets.

It is understood that the club had a representative at Benfica’s clash against Boavista as Rui Vitoria’s side won 4-0 to keep the pressure on league leaders Porto.

Almeida and Silva were both targeted by Leicester City back in the January transfer window, too, but the Foxes decided against any move for either of the two.

According to the reports in Portugal, Benfica are said to have demanded £15 million for Andre Almeida, a price that City considered too high to pay at that time, especially with their no.1 right-back choice Bouna Sarr available for half his price from Marseille.

Leicester City apparently made a couple of bids for the 25-year old last month; however, none of them were accepted as manager Rudi Garcia made it clear that he isn’t for sale. Claude Puel, though, may go for him again, come the summer.

Primarily an attacker who can operate centrally as well as out wide, Bouna Sarr has been deployed as a right-back this season in all of his appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit.

Of course, there’s hardly any room for doubt as to where would he be played by Puel, with Leicester City eyeing him as competition for Danny Simpson and Daniel Amartey – who isn’t a natural right-back either.

It’ll be interesting to see as to who do Leicester City actually bring in as their new right-back. An arrival is almost imminent with Simpson ageing and there clearly being a shortage of options to deploy at the position.
