Leonardo Ulloa wants permanent move to Brighton and Hove Albion from Leicester City
Leonardo Ulloa wants a permanent move to Brighton and Hove Albion from Leicester City.
The Argentine was loaned out to his former club until the end of the season after he was deemed surplus to the requirements at the King Power Stadium.
Now that he is back to his home after four years, Leonardo Ulloa seems to have rediscovered his love for the club again, as he is now wanting a permanent move.
Speaking to the Brighton Argus after the 3-1 FA Cup win over Coventry City, he said:
"“When I play here I feel different. Wearing this shirt it’s different for me. When I had all the options and this option it was easy to say I was coming here.“I want to stay here for a long time now but we’ll see what happens. Leicester was a very nice time for me, wonderful in my career, but now I have to look forward.“They’ve got Vardy, Iheanacho, Okazaki, Slimani, Musa, they have too many strikers. It’s so difficult to play there.”"
Saturday was the first time since August that Leonardo Ulloa lasted a full 90 minutes on the pitch, also netting a goal in the process. More than than the goal, the 31-year old feels that the time spent on the pitch is vital for him going forward.
"“I needed to play like this. It was a long time since I’ve played 90 minutes, maybe six or seven months. I need to play, I need some minutes. My fitness needs to be better.“I have to train hard and be ready for when the gaffer needs me. It’s difficult when you don’t play for a long time.”"

Earlier on, La Liga clubs Levante and Leganes had both registered interest in signing Leonardo Ulloa; however, no approach was made by either of the two, paving the way for Chris Hughton to simply go and get his man.
Ulloa had for long been a forgotten name at Leicester City, and especially since the start of this season. He made just seven appearances (two starts) in 2017/18, recording two assists during that time.

The former Almeria striker endured similar fortunes last season, too, as he managed to start four of the 24 games he featured in across all competitions, finding the net just once all season.
However, despite being mostly out of favour, the 31-year old signed a contract extension at the club, keeping him at the King Power Stadium till 2019. The contract doesn’t seem to make much sense now.
