Leicester City face Chelsea in FA Cup at perfect time
Leicester City are set to face Chelsea FC in the FA Cup after the Blues complete a gauntlet of matches against some elite competition.
It’s never a good time play to play against the big boy clubs of the Premier League, unless of course you happen to be in the middle of the most unlikely title run in history, but the Foxes will take on Chelsea at a great time.
Much has been made about Chelsea’s stretch of matches where they play both Manchester clubs and FC Barcelona twice in the next month or so with a date against a tricky Crystal Palace side that they have already lost 2-1 to this season. The Blues will play Barcelona at the Camp Nou on March 14th, just three days before they travel to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester City.
Chelsea could either be emotionally and physically drained from chasing shadows around the Camp Nou for 90 or 120 minutes in a loss, or be emotionally and physically drained from doing the same in a victory. Either way this is a testing gauntlet for any side, much less one that has had its fair share of struggles in 2018 the way Chelsea have.

In contrast to Chelsea’s walk through footballing hell, the Foxes will have a leisurely stroll through the park to face some very willing competition. They welcome Stoke City, currently in 19th place, to the King Power on the 24th of February and then stay home to await the Cherries of Bournemouth on March 3rd.
They then round out the three week stretch with a visit to the worst side in the Premier League in West Brom who will be desperate for points but have lost four straight as of this week. The Baggies have only collected 20 points from 27 matches, so on paper, this is the most straightforward of all the matches.

If things go the way they should, the Foxes should be on a three-match winning run, or at least an unbeaten run coming into their match against a tired Chelsea side.
The Foxes would probably have rather been drawn against one of the lower league clubs left in the competition or even one of the lesser Premier League clubs like Swansea or Brighton but at least they can count on getting a Chelsea side that has been dragged through the mud against elite global competition.
