Kasper Schmeichel kept mistaking Paul Lambert for a Leicester City player during the clash against Stoke City on Saturday.

The Danish goalkeeper twice kicked the ball out of play, sending it out in Lambert’s direction as his blue jumper caused a hilarious confusion.

The Scotsman eventually had to be requested to take off the his jumper at the 67th minute after Schmeichel let the Leicester staff know about the issue he had been facing.

Speaking after the 1-1 draw at the King Power Stadium, Paul Lambert said:

"“I got notified by one of the staff that there was a problem with the blue.“We had already been playing for about 70 minutes [though]. I don’t know what happened before that so it was strange, really strange. I don’t understand what was up”."

It seems like the blue jumper was somewhat lucky for Lambert. Just three minutes after he took it off, Jack Butland’s goalkeeping error gifted Leicester City the equaliser that they had been searching for.

Stoke City, however, were later lauded by many for their performance against the Foxes, particularly at the back as they kept the home side at bay for a majority of the 90 minutes.

Having weathered the storm early on in the game, the Potters then made life tough for Leicester City, dealing with the aerial balls with ease, and even successfully stopping Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy.

Claude Puel’s side would now need to produce a much better performance against AFC Bournemouth next week if they are to avoid any more slip-ups in their pursuit of a UEFA Europa League spot.
