Wes Morgan is happy to see Riyad Mahrez “out there” after the player’s return to Leicester City.

The Algerian returned back to training after a two-week absence, during which he missed games against Swansea City and Everton as Leicester failed to win in both of them.

It was feared that Riyad Mahrez would seem out of sorts and would take some time to get back to his best with the Foxes, but he has picked up right where he left and instantly starting performing well.

Having seen his display against Stoke City, captain Wes Morgan couldn’t stop himself from praising the winger. Speaking to the Leicester Mercury, he said:

"“He’s a good player – he’s getting straight back into it and I was glad to see him out there.“I think he looked more like himself. Everyone knows what’s happened after the transfer window but he has come in and got straight back to work.“He’s always been focused. He’s been great – he’s settled back in as if he never went away so it’s fantastic for us and it’s fantastic for him.”"

Of course, Mahrez has settled back in as if he never went away, and anyone who watched him play against Stoke City would agree with that.

When Riyad Mahrez is on song, few defenders can get anyway near him – and that’s exactly what the case was that afternoon. The Algerian brought some of his finest moves and tricks with him, making the opponents look terribly helpless and hapless.

The only regret he’ll have, though, is the fact that he couldn’t completely make the day his own by finishing off the chance that he had in the closing stages of the game. His strike could have surely proved to be the one that sealed a frantic tie.
