Claude Puel impressed with “leader” Harry Maguire
Claude Puel is impressed with the latest Leicester City sensation, Harry Maguire, who he thinks has become a “good leader”.
Maguire has quickly established himself as an extremely important part of the side, being the go to man as far as the defensive responsibilities are concerned.
Of all the young players currently catching our attention at Leicester City, Harry Maguire seems to be the most complete player of them all, and fairly close to being what we call a world-class player.
Therefore, it’s not surprising to see Claude Puel so impressed by the 24-year old. Talking of how the England international has improved on certain aspects of his game, he said:
"“I think Harry has improved with his anticipation, the battles, the reading of his play and he has become a good leader,” said Puel.“He has good leadership now. It is a good thing to see him with this level and with this improvement.“I want to continue to make progress.“He is an international player and important for his national team.“If we can continue to develop Harry and the players with the same spirit it will be great for the future.“All the young players, if we can give them some game-time then it will bode well for the future.”"
The better Harry Maguire gets, the harder it will be for Leicester City to keep hold of him. He hasn’t even completed a season at the King Power Stadium yet, and Manchester City and Manchester United already have him on their radar to bolster their defences.
Back in January, City had been strongly linked with a £50 million move for the former Hull City defender, an increase of nearly three times on the £17 million that Leicester paid for him in an strangely easy move to seal.

Harry Maguire doesn’t appear to be tempted by the prospect of playing at a bigger club as yet, but there does remain a fear that it could all change a bit too quickly once – and if – a bid comes in from someone like Manchester City. Imagine losing Maguire and Riyad Mahrez in one window.
