Leicester City have UEFA Champions League in their sights
Leicester City have a UEFA Champions League return in their sights again after the latest financial statements revealed record profits.
The Foxes have reported a £223 million turnover, and a pre-tax profit of £92.5 million, which, after tax, amounts to a substantial £80 million.
This is an increase of more than £120 million over the £104 million turnover that Leicester reported in 2014/15, the season of the great escape and the start of a footballing fairytale like no other.
Leicester City are now planning to invest this money in a £80 million state-of-the-art training facility in Charnwood and player recruitments among many other priorities that they have set for themselves.
"“Securing a legacy for the Club’s recent achievements is among our greatest responsibilities, as it will be the platform from which Leicester City can grow and achieve further, sustainable success in the future. It is central to King Power’s vision for the Club and the determination of the Srivaddhanaprabha family to reward our fans for their immeasurable and unconditional support,” Leicester City’s Chief Executive Susan Whelan said.“Fundamental to that legacy is the commercial consolidation of the opportunities success has afforded the Club. This allows us to make further long-term investments in outstanding players and key personnel; infrastructure to strengthen our operations and services; and world-class facilities such as our proposed new training facility in Charnwood – all of which will aid the Club’s continued growth for generations to come.“As with the on-pitch achievements of which these financial results are a consequence, we remain realistic about the immediate likelihood of them being repeated, but are determined to make sure their impact strengthens our aspirations and belief in the future for Leicester City Football Club and our consistent growth and success on and off the pitch.”"

If any club in the Premier League has actually grown on all fronts in the past two or three seasons, then it has got to be Leicester City.
They arrived as a small club looking for some short-lived adventure in the big boys’ territory, but as it turned out, they won the league in 2015/16, went further than any other English club in the Champions League a year after and are now looking like they are here to stay for a long-long time.

A European place, though, may take a bit of time for Leicester City as the rich continue to get richer and stronger in England’s top division.
Even the UEFA Europa League spots are now going to possibly go to – as it seems – Chelsea and Arsenal, which shows just how tough it is for Fearless Foxes to live the dream again. They are on the right path, though.
