Arsenal are interested in signing Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City, as per a report from the Daily Mail.

The Gunners have been in contact with the 21-year old, and they want to bring him to the Emirates Stadium as part of a potential summer shake-up.

Manchester United and Liverpool are also understood to be keen on signing the Nigeria international; however, the Gunners are leading the race for his signature at the moment.

A source close to the Leicester City midfielder told:

"“There has been so much interest in him. He is going to be a top player and Arsenal have been in contact.“They want to sign him this summer.“Arsene Wenger is a manager he admires a lot and his friend Alex Iwobi has told him lots of great things about the club.“But there is no shortage of offers. Liverpool have shown strong interest and (Manchester) United”.Wilfred Ndidi has been one of the Premier League’s best midfielders this season, and maybe the best in his role. The former Genk midfielder was expected to replace N’Golo Kante, which seemed impossible at the time of his arrival, but with every game passing, he is looking more and more like he could be even better than the Chelsea midfielder. At 21, he still has a lot to learn, a lot to improve at and a lot to give to any club that he moves to, and that’s frightening because of how very good he already is in the defensive midfield in a team that doesn’t necessarily defend or move the ball around that well.Next: Best of the rest but losing to David: Leicester City Vs bottom of the tableThe parlous nature of Leicester City’s defending means that it’ll be a huge blow to lose Wilfred Ndidi, but like Riyad Mahrez, he seems like a player who is destined to move on for a bigger challenge and more trophies. While Arsenal may not be among their best times, Ndidi would know how he would instantly improve the North Londoners, and how they’d reward him.Published on 04/02/2018 at 9:28 AM EDTLast updated on 04/02/2018 at 9:28 AM EDT “There has been so much interest in him.
