Leicester City midfielder Vicente Iborra may be out for the rest of the season with a Hamstring injury.

The Spaniard had to be substituted in the first-half against Newcastle United, but it didn’t seem like the extent of the injury could be that serious.

After assessment, however, Claude Puel has revealed that it’s a serious Hamstring injury which would quite possibly keep Iborra out for the remaining six Premier League games.

Speaking to TalkSport’s Geoff Peters, the Leicester City boss said:

"“Perhaps we have lost Iborra until the end of the season”."

It can’t get any worse for Leicester, can it? They first lost to Newcastle United in a game that many fancied them to win, and they now have seen their midfield options reduced to just two players for the game against Burnley next week. You could not have seen that coming.

With only Hamza Choudhury and Andre Silva now available for the duty in the middle of the park, Puel doesn’t have just have the shortage of options to worry about but the six-point gap between Leicester City and Burnley, too.

While the Clarets secured their fourth consecutive Premier League win – and in some fashion having been 1-0 behind – the Foxes meanwhile struggled against Rafael Benitez’s side, who physically tormented them on their way to a fully deserved 2-1 win.

It was Leicester City’s fourth successive home game without a win, and easily the most disappointing of the lot. They now face the mammoth task of beating a well-organised Burnley, and following that up with a number of wins to save their season.
