Leicester City players share the same frustrations as the fans after the stalemate against Southampton, says Ben Hamer.

The Foxes were left to rue missed chances and a poor second-half showing, as they failed to win for a fifth successive home game.

With the pressure now increasing on Claude Puel, and the frustrations more obvious than ever at the King Power Stadium, Ben Hamer has accepted that the players share the same feelings.

Speaking to the Leicester Mercury, the goalkeeper told how desperate the players are to turn this around and hopefully take over Burnley to finish seventh in the Premier League.

"“Of course we share the frustrations,” said Hamer.“We’re all frustrated, we wanted to win tonight, obviously put to bed the recent run of form that we’ve had at home.“It’s not been great and we were desperate to get a win tonight after Burnley last week (when City lost 2-1) as well, when we desperately tried to win the game.“At the end of the day, we haven’t scored, but we kept the ball out of the net, so it’s a point in the right direction and we’ve got to keep plugging away until the end of the season and keep putting in some good performances.“We’re disappointed, I’m not going to lie to you. The boys are desperate to finish seventh this year, and obviously try and force that Europa League spot, but the result last week killed us a little bit.“It wasn’t great for us, but we bounced back tonight, got a point in the right direction like I said earlier.“We’ve got another four games left now I think and we’ve got to keep on looking to get positive results and hopefully we can put a bit more pressure on.“Southampton are scrapping for their lives, down in the bottom three. It poses different questions and games sometimes, because obviously they’re playing for something and we also want to get as high as we can in the league.“Obviously seventh is getting further from our grasp at the minute, but we’ve got to keep on winning and keep on putting the pressure on and hopefully we can do that.”"

Leicester City could have reduced the gap between the Clarets and them to six points again, and with four games to play, there may still have been a little chance to beating them to seventh.

However, the difference now being eight points, it’d only be a miracle were Puel’s side to somehow achieve their target. Even a miracle seems to have a sense of far-fetchedness to it, seeing as Leicester City would almost certainly have to beat Arsenal (H), Tottenham Hotspur (A), Crystal Palace (A) and West Ham United (H).

While the North Londoners have a few good reasons to try and win each of their remaining games, for West Ham and Palace, every game has the potential to define their season, and that only tells you how they’ll approach this fixture.

If the atmosphere in and around the club is anything to go by, these could be defining games for Claude Puel, too.
