Leicester City target Ricardo Pereira tight-lipped on transfer links
Leicester City target Ricardo Pereira is remaining tight-lipped on his future for now.
The Portugal international has been linked with a move to the King Power Stadium since Claude Puel’s arrival, and it had recently emerged that the club were very close to agreeing a deal with him.
However, Pereira hasn’t let anything slip by and has maintained that he would only talk about transfers after the end of the season. He did drop a slight hint by praising Puel for the impact he had on his career.
Speaking to RMC Sport, he said:
"“On (the transfer links with Leicester City), I don’t know.“You see it in the press but I don’t want to know about it. I want to be a champion and afterwards, if it’s true, I will talk about it.“Claude Puel? He gave me confidence. The first year, when I was not playing here at Porto, he helped me to play my game and come back here to produce my best.“The Premier League? I think everyone likes it. It’s the most well-known championship.”"
It’s certainly very cheeky on Ricardo Pereira’s part to remain coy, but give a little something away at the same time.
Like the other matters at Leicester City, however, Pereira’s signing will depend only upon whether or not Claude Puel stays at the King Power Stadium.
The Frenchman has a foot outside of the exit door after the latest 5-0 humbling at the hands of Crystal Palace, and with more humiliation on the cards, it seems like his time will be up in the East Midlands soon.

Ricardo Pereira has seven assists and two goals to his name this season, so the potential – particularly attacking potential – is definitely there alongside other abilities that have led to teams like Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Juventus and Valencia expressing their interest in him, too.
