Leicester City brought the curtains down to their 2017/18 Premier League season with a goalfest at Wembley, losing by an excruciating 5-4 to Tottenham Hotspur. Here’s what we learned from their thriller:

The defending really needs to improve

It was the defending that let Leicester City down on the first day of the season against Arsenal (lost 4-3 having led 3-2), and it’s the same aspect of their game that has let them down for the one final time this season.

Leicester’s defence was all over the place, and barring Harry Maguire, it didn’t seem like Wes Morgan, Christian Fuchs or Danny Simpson had much of an idea about what exactly were they supposed to do.

Regardless of who the manager is, this backline can’t continue for the Foxes next season. Maguire needs quality around him, or he’d eventually leave for where he gets just that.
