Manchester City are in talks with Leicester City over the transfer of Riyad Mahrez, according to The Telegraph.

The deal is now reported to be back on, with young Patrick Roberts expected to go the other way in a deal that’d be worth £50 million, around £10 million lesser than what the Citizens were willing to offer in the January transfer window.

There still, however, is one factor that could result in further delay, and that’s Riyad Mahrez’s agent Kia Joorabchian’s demands – but even that shouldn’t be much of a problem. With Manchester City’s interest being as strong as it is, an agreement would probably be reached soon.

Riyad Mahrez’s sale would a bit of a relief for Leicester City, given how ugly things have got at times between the player and the club.

Ever since the 27-year old released a statement about his intentions to leave the King Power Stadium in chase of his ambition, there hasn’t been a day when the fans and the board haven’t had to worry about someone snatching him from right under their noise.

From Arsenal and Manchester United to Barcelona and Real Madrid, nearly every elite club in the world has been linked to him, and that has caused a lot of headaches for Leicester City, especially with no immediate replacements available.

Now, as Riyad Mahrez nears his inevitable end in the East Midlands, the Foxes can finally move on under Claude Puel, and move safely into this new era of success combined with sustenance.
