Manchester City will reportedly have to pay £75 million to sign Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City, according to The Guardian.

The £75 million figure will be inclusive of £15 million in add-ons alone, meaning that the Foxes are set to land significant sums for their Algerian star.

Earlier, it was understood that it would be a cash-plus-player deal, with Patrick Roberts expected to come to the King Power Stadium.

The young winger was due to have talks with Manchester City to discuss his future, and it now seems that he will either be loaned to Celtic again or be given first-team opportunities this season at the Etihad Stadium.

With the money that Leicester City are going to make from Mahrez’s sale, the fans would certainly hope for a big-money signing that fits right into the role that the 27-year old has so far played for his side.

Hatem Ben Arfa has been the most linked player in recent times because of his relations with Claude Puel, but those rumours have died down, and they don’t like look like they will be popping up  anytime soon.

It therefore remains a mystery as to who do Leicester City plan to buy after they’ve sold Riyad Mahrez. To not buy is not an option, since there isn’t a player in the squad who is ready to take such huge a step.

Puel has already used his relations to sign Ricardo Pereira for £22 million, and if that’s anything to go by, then we should be in for another exciting arrival.
