Leicester City are considering making a bid for National League side AFC Fylde’s highly-rated Serhat Tasdemir, according to Starsport.

The 17-year old has also been kept a close eye on by Stoke City, Leeds United and Middlesbrough, and there are many more clubs that are expected to show interest in him this summer.

Operating as a wide midfielder on the left flank, the young Englishman scored four goals and assisted as many in 27 league appearances. His displays didn’t go unnoticed, as he was rewarded with a place in the division’s U-23 Team of the Year as well.

He could now be in for yet more rewards, with Leicester City understood to have serious interest in him.

Under Claude Puel, Leicester have become sort of a heaven for young players, and his policy of grooming the budding talents could very well mean that Serhat Tasdemir is snapped up for the academy.

A move to Leicester City would represent a huge move for the Fylde sensation after he had been released by Blackburn Rovers a couple of years back. He has since worked hard, and he now stands on the verge of coming straight to the Premier League from a non-league club.

Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? If Jamie Vardy’s meteoric rise to prominence is anything to go by, then an upcoming non-league footballer should never be underestimated.
