Portugal teammate Adrien Silva’s presence at Leicester City would be important for new boy Ricardo Pereira, the 24-year old has told in a press conference ahead of the friendly against Tunisia.

Pereira became Claude Puel’s first signing of the summer for £22 million, and he has since been the source of excitement around the East Midlands.

Now set to play a big part with Portugal in the FIFA World Cup in Russia alongside his Leicester City teammate Adrien Silva, the former FC Porto right-back is looking forward to the former’s presence at the King Power Stadium, too, which will help him settle down.

However, Ricardo Pereira is not thinking too much at the moment, as he only concerned about the national duty for now.

"“In terms of adapting, it will be very important to have Adrien there (Leicester City.“I have already talked to him about it, but now we are talking more about the national team.”"

Pereira, who is now going to replace Danny Simpson as Claude Puel’s first choice right-back, knows what the scale of the task at Leicester City is – but that’s not worrying him at all.

In fact, the Portugal international is more of a relieved man now, having sorted his future before going flying to Russia, which was his only cause for worry.

"“Leicester will be a challenge, but now is not the time to think about it. My focus is now on the national team,” he said.“It’s important to come here (to the World Cup) with things already sorted out, so I can now just worry about the national team.”"

Leicester fans have every right to be eager to watch him play this summer, so they can catch a glimpse of what this talented young full-back is up to.

They’d be also be hoping for Adrien Silva to come good. The midfielder underwhelmed in his first season at the club, but there’s a belief that he’ll make it count next season. It all starts now for him.
