Leicester City are now in for West Ham United and Southampton target Felipe Anderson, according to Tuttosport.

The Hammers had been leading the race for Lazio winger for some time, but it seems they now have some competition, with both Leicester and Southampton keeping an eye on the situation, and ready to take advantage, shall an opportunity arise.

Most of the fans must be sat wondering why is he linked with the club at all, but those who remember him from the days when he was a Manchester United target would know that there’s some talent in there – even if it hasn’t been on display as often as you’d like.

The former Santos player has scored eight goals and assisted ten in 32 appearances across all competitions this season, operating mostly as a second striker behind Ciro Immobile, who netted a whooping 41 goals in 47 appearances (all competitions).

The Brazil international is recognised as a versatile player, who can also play as a centre-forward, a right midfielder, an attacking midfielder and a right winger as well. He has been played in all of those positions over the course of the season, and he has pretty much looked at home.

That versatility is why he has been eyed by a few other clubs, chiefly West Ham United, who look the favourites to sign the Serie A forward.

With Lazio not very willing to sell one of their main players, it will not only take some serious money to sign him, but it’ll also require a better offer than the Hammers as far as the player’s wages are concerned.

Besides, who wouldn’t want to play under Manuel Pellegrini?
