Valencia are interested in signing Borussia Monchengladbach’s Thorgan Hazard, and could reportedly make a €30 million move for the Leicester City target – that’s according to the Calcio Mercato.

The Belgian has been eyed as a replacement for Riyad Mahrez, but the Foxes aren’t the only club wanting to land him. Sevilla, Bayern Munich, Borrusia Dortmund and RB Leipzig have all been linked with the 25-year old, and with Valencia now after him, too, it’s not going to be any easy for Claude Puel.

The Borussia Monchengladbach winger managed 11 goals and nine assists in 37 appearances across all competitions in 2017/18, which is a similar tally to the one that he achieved the season before (11 goals and seven assists).

Now heading into his fifth season with the Bundesliga club, it’s not clear as to what would his next step be. The former Chelsea player did indicate that he was happy in Germany, but at the same time, he has been dropping hints that he might assess the options available to him.

Now 25, one would think that it’s time he looked for a new challenge elsewhere, but it might well be that he finds his challenge at Monchengladbach. Whatever the case, it’s very unlikely that Hazard would end up at Leicester City.

The East Midlanders have also been linked with Lazio’s Felipe Anderson, Norwich’s James Maddison and Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, who would all be worth more than £25 million.

Grealish in particular is rumoured to be the most probable of all, but his £40 million valuation is set to stand in the way.
