West Ham United are in talks to sign reported Leicester City target Felipe Anderson from Lazio, according to Sky Sources.

The hammers have already had a £33 million bid rejected, with the Serie A club demanding close to £44 million. While that is much higher than what West Ham would ideally like to be pay, a deal is expected to be struck sooner rather than later.

As is obvious, Leicester City are set to miss out on the Brazilian, who has been heavily linked with a move to the King Power Stadium.

The fact, however, remains that the Foxes never made any official approach for the 25-year old, meaning that the interest mustn’t have been as concrete as was understood to be.

Having not pursued Felipe Anderson, it has now got even more interesting as to who will Claude Puel go into the market for. Could he take an exciting risk by signing Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish and Norwich City’s James Maddison?

The move would raise a few eyebrows but would undoubtedly be one in the right direction, given that Leicester City need to add to their midfield, particularly a no.10.

The duo would reportedly cost around £60 million, with Grealish costing as much as £40 million alone, and Maddison available for about £20 million.

Borussia Monchengladbach’s Thorgan Hazard is also among those being targeted as possible replacements for Manchester City-bound Riyad Mahrez, but he looks unlikely to sign either. The Belgium international has been the subject of interest from La Liga’s Sevilla and Valencia.
