Leicester City are interested in a season-long loan move for Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, according to the Daily Mail.

But they could face competition from Everton and Newcastle United, who are also monitoring the 20-year old’s situation at Old Trafford.

Rashford has fallen down the pecking order since Alexis Sanchez’s arrival from Arsenal in January, struggling to nail down a spot in Jose Mourinho’s first-choice XI.

The electric forward made 53 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring a healthy 13 goals and assisting nine. However, he only started 26 of those games, which is not enough for his development.

It is understood that Mourinho would be willing to send Marcus Rashford out on loan for him to be able to continue progressing, as it doesn’t look like he’d be heavily involved next season either.

Apparently, Leicester City could be where the England international ends up for 2018/19, and it’s a move that will send waves of excitement through the East Midlands. It’s clear by now that Rashford is English Football’s next big thing, and to be able to watch him a play in a young, pacy, and attacking Leicester side could be the stuff of dreams.

This move has a great chance of happening if Claude Puel shows enough intent. There’s no way that someone as clever as Jose Mourinho would ever let a supremely talented player leave for a direct rival, and that automatically increases other teams’ chances of grabbing him for a season, especially Leicester City, where young players have flourished.
