Leicester City reportedly want to replace Claude Puel with Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers this summer, according to The Sun.

The exclusive report states that the Foxes are still pondering another managerial change at the King Power Stadium, partly because of the prevalent friction between the players and the Frenchman.

There were similar rumours concerning Claude Puel’s future doing their rounds at the back end of last season as well, when Leicester City went on a really poor run in the Premier League.

The results had largely been seen as the direct effect of a strained relationship; however, Jamie Vardy and Harry Maguire did openly admit that their boss had the full backing of the dressing room, with everyone buying into his philosophy.

Even the Leicester City board had given its full support to the former OGC Nice boss, so it’d be rather strange for them to not stick to their word and sack him now, especially after his team is starting to take shape.

Puel has already brought West Bromwich Albion’s Jonny Evans and FC Porto’s Ricardo Pereira on board, and there are at least another couple of arrivals expected shortly. Were City to sack him now, it is not certain that Brendan Rodgers would necessarily deem the new arrivals suitable for his own system and ways.

Also, with so litte time remaining for the FIFA World Cup to start, the Irishman would be left with only a handful of days to complete his business and paint the team in his colours. Surely, it’d be a shot in the foot.
