Leicester City have submitted a bid in the region of £20 million for Norwich City’s James Maddison, according to the Telegraph’s John Percy.

Everton, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, West Ham United and Fulham are also interested in the highly-rated youngster, but the Foxes have ensured that they are leading the race for the midfielder.

But elsewhere, The Sun reports that Southampton have reportedly won the battle for the 21-year old, having had a £20 million-plus offer accepted by the Championship side out of nowhere.

Well, at the moment, no one really knows who to believe in, so Leicester City fans must brace themselves for all the possibilities.

A lot can happen in a day in a transfer window, and it won’t be too surprising even if we see James Maddison in an Everton shirt this evening, or in the Leicester City colours a couple hours from now.

Claude Puel is also understood to be wanting Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish as well, but they’d have to beat an awful lot of clubs to be able to land him, too, including Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Arsenal.

Also, the Villans’ £40 million price tag may result in Leicester having to assess other, more cheaper options – if a bargain is what they are on the look for.

Though one would think that having signed Ricardo Pereira and Jonny Evans for a combined £20 million, the East Midlanders would have plenty of funds to spend, especially if they sell Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City for more than £60 million.
