Cluade the builder – can he fix it?

As mentioned in the quote previously, Claude Puel has confessed to being a builder – there is evidence to show this in his philosophy on how he wants Leicester to play and the signings he has bought in so far, including the imminent signing of James Maddison.

If you were to asking Leicester fans before the transfer window opened – Where do we need to strengthen the team. An attacking right back, another centre back to challenge for a first team place ahead of Wes Morgan, a creative attacking midfielder that can score goals and make them would be top of the shopping list. The club has certainly delivered so far this summer, and Claude Puel must take credit for identifying this where other managers seem to have failed.

Another string to our bow?

Also Puel has identified that Leicester must improve their playing style to over come the challenges in the Premier League. Plenty of teams now set up to frustrate and defending deep in front of the penalty box. Puel has tried – with some success to improve the Foxes in possession and their ability to break down tough opposition that are determined to defend at all costs.

Yes, it is not as exciting and expansive as the counter attacking part of Leicesters game but for them to evolve and grow as a team and club this an important part of that. Without the ability to break down difficult defensive teams, Leicester will simply stagnate as they had become easy to play against and were too predictable.
