After Harry Maguire’s impressive World Cup debut against Tunisia, Vardy will want to prove he isn’t the only Foxes player that is able to impressive for the Three Lions.
Jamie Vardy isn’t expected to start against Panama however he is keen to take his chance should he make his World Cup debut on Sunday. Speaking ahead of the game Vardy had this to say:
"“It’s not annoying at all (watching fellow striker Kane scoring twice). At the end of the day we are all here for one reason and that is to keep winning as many games as possible.” “You’ve just got to keep going and make sure you are putting in the effort on the training field and then getting into the gaffer’s plans – hopefully get your chance – and then making sure you stay there.” “The gaffer has said that everyone who is here in the 23-man squad is going to be needed at some point, so you’ve obviously just got to stay focused and put the effort in and hopefully get your chance and that’s when you have got to make sure it counts.” Jamie Vardy –Sky Sports"
