Leicester City have submitted a final bid worth £25 million for Trabzonspor’s Abdulkadir Ömür, according to Fotomac.

It was earlier reported (Haberturk) that the Foxes were willing to only pay £20 million for the 18-year old, but it seems that they’ve changed their mind.

Claude Puel is apparently a fan of the Turkish prodigy, and is therefore ready to take an expensive risk – whether it’s one worth taking, or one that he actually needs to take is an interesting question.

But before the Frenchman can bring the Turkish prodigy to the King Power Stadium, he’d have to fight off competition from Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur, who also have him on their radar.

Branded the “Turkish Messi”, Abdulkadir Omur has six assists and three goals in 32 appearances this season as a wide midfielder who operates mostly on the right. He can, however, play on the left as well.

With Trabzonspor determined to keep hold of him, and some top clubs monitoring his situation, it seems like a transfer that Leicester City could find tough to get over the line. It’s what the fans may be hoping for anyway.

So far, Leicester have been so good – and sensible – with their transfer activity, addressing each and every deprived area with some fine nous. They haven’t even reached the £50 million mark as yet, and have already signed Ricardo Pereira (£22 million), Jonny Evans (£3.5 million) and James Maddison (£24 million).

Remember, even if the East Midlanders do make another two or three signings, there’s a good chance that the net spend might not exceed £50 million, with Riyad Mahrez set to be sold for around £70 million.
