Manchester City’s Patrick Roberts could soon become Leicester City’s fourth signing of the summer, according to the Mirror’s Neil Moxley.

The young winger is set to sign for the Foxes in a £10 million move as Riyad Mahrez goes the other way for a whooping £60 million.

Back in January, Roberts was offered to Leicester City as part of a cash-plus-player deal for Mahrez; however, the club decided against it at the time.

But now it appears that the 21-year old will indeed come to the King Power Stadium, thereby adding to the rich reserves of the talented young players that Claude Puel has at his disposal.

Roberts has spent nearly three seasons on loan at Celtic, making 78 appearances in all competitions. The former Fulham player has scored 18 goals and assisted 26 during that time.

Although he spent most of his last season in the injury room – managing just 18 appearances – Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers was still keen to sign him on a permanent basis.

Thanks to Riyad Mahrez, Leicester City look to have beaten the Scottish champions to another fine young player – but would he be the Algerian’s replacement? The fans would hope he’s not.

For all of his potential, Roberts is still young, and in no way ready to make that right wing his own. Along with Fousseni Diabate, he should be seen as one for the future, not necessarily the present. With the East Midlanders targeting the top eight this season, they’d definitely need someone more established, and someone with a reputation.
