Leicester City are targeting Torino winger Iago Falque as they look to replace Riyad Mahrez, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport.

The Algerian star now sold to Manchester City for a record £60 million, Claude Puel has a huge job on his hands with less than a month remaining before the transfer window shuts down.

And he has therefore turned his attention to Iago Falque. The 28-year old scored 14 goals and assisted ten for Torino last season, which has made Sevilla, Valencia, West Ham United and Southampton (where he made one appearance on loan from Tottenham Hotspur) turn their heads as well. Torino, however, are not ready to sell Falque yet, and only a mammoth offer would make them sell him.

Falque has had quite a footballing career so far. He began his career at Real Madrid at the age of 11 before leaving for Barcelona in 2001.

Finally, after spending seven years in the youth team at the Camp Nou, he signed for Juventus in 2008. He never made an appearance in Turin, and could only manage loan spells to Bari and Villareal B.

Since then, he has played for Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton (loan), Almeria (loan), Rayo Vallecano (loan), Genoa, AS Roma and finally, Torino.

Leicester City have also been linked with a move for Manchester City’s young winger Patrick Roberts. The winger was expected to be involved in the deal for Riyad Mahrez, but it didn’t work out that way.
