AS Roma have agreed personal terms with reported Leicester City target Malcom, according to Sky Sports.

The Serie A club are understood to have submitted  a £31.3 million offer to Bordeaux, who are expected to respond in the next couple of days.

Roma seem to have come out of nowhere to win the race for the Brazilian winger after it appeared that Everton were going to get him with relative ease. Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan are known to have been his admirers, too.

Leicester City, meanwhile, must now look elsewhere, as the search for a Riyad Mahrez replacement goes on. Of all the names they’ve been linked with so far, Alireza Jahanbakhsh appears the most likely to join.

Iranian outlet Vananews had recently reported that he had flown into Leicester in Vicchai Srivaddhanprabha’s private jet for his medical, and was set to be signed for £19.4 million. However, there has been no update since. Maybe there was no medical at all.

Jahanbakhsh, who plies his trade in the Eredivisie, scored 22 goals and assisted 14 in 39 appearances last season. Regardless of the ease with which his opponents in Netherlands may have let those goals in, that’s still an impressive tally, and one that does require some skill – and acquire some money, too.

But Leicester City, if the reports are to anything to be read into – which they generally aren’t – could land the 24-year old for a mere £19.4 million. That is not even a third of what they got paid for Riyad Mahrez.
