Leicester City would eye their first win of the season as they host Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Despite doing enough to at least earn a point against Manchester United last week, they had to return home empty-handed. Not too long ago, a similar pattern nearly cost Claude Puel his job.

The repetitive nature of Leicester’s latest defeat has seen the Frenchman find himself in a familiar ring of fire once again, which is slightly surprising because the Premier League has only just begun.

But there’s nothing that can be done about it. In order to placate the naysayers, Puel just has to expedite his team’s transformation into one that wins more than it laments. A win tomorrow against Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolverhampton would be a good step towards achieving that.

The scale of that task, though, is such that Leicester will have to match their display from last Friday to be able to get something out of the game. Wolves don’t just have some bloody good players but a bloody good system that complements the former well. If you’re not quite up to it, they remain capable of sweeping you away.

Main man

James Maddison was the best part about Leicester’s 2-1 loss to United. The new signing didn’t take any time at all to adapt to life in England’s top division, and was right away taking care of the matters that he is supposed to.

It’s clear now that he is where most of Leicester’s creativity is going to come from this season.

Quotes

"“It’s just speculation,” Puel said of his future.“I would be happy for my successor, because he would have a good team, a good squad, with good basics, a good intensity and a good mentality, all perfect for him,” Puel said of his future.”"
