Claude Puel needs to put Daniel Amartey out of his misery

For some reason, Claude Puel thought it was a wise idea to deploy Ricardo Pereira as the right-winger, and Daniel Amartey as the right-back – just as he did against Manchester United in the opening game. The result was the same.

Southampton were very comfortable marauding up and down the right side as Leicester missed the Albrighton-Pereira partnership that had done so well against Wolverhampton Wanderers last Saturday.

That’s two matches now that Amartey has been unconvincing in. While his performance this afternoon was far ‘less depressing’ than the previous one, there is no arguing that Leicester are better served with the work rate of Albrighton, and the quality of Pereira, the right-back, not the winger.
