Communication problems are causing a delay in Caglar Soyuncu’s Leicester City debut, Claude Puel has told.

The fans weren’t least impressed when the Turkey international was left to watch the proceedings from the bench yet again. It was expected that his satiny hair would be on show against Wolverhampton Wanders, but it wasn’t so.

Thankfully, the decision to play Wes Morgan and Jonny Evans didn’t backfire, and Puel didn’t have to be subjected to any number of slurs and sneers – but questions were still asked about Soyuncu.

The boss, as always, had the answers.

"“For the moment, he has some problems communicating with his team-mates because he does not speak a lot with all the good words and sentences,” said Puel.“He needs to make progress.“Also he is a young player. That is the first thing. The second thing is that I think it was a good opportunity to give more game-time to Jonny and with Wes to work together and play together.”"

Soyuncu isn’t just learning to adapt to the English game, but the English Language, too. The 22-year old is receiving language lessons to be able to don the Leicester colours as soon as is possible.

"“Yes, of course,” said Puel when questioned if the club are giving him any lessons.“The club are doing all the necessary to give him lessons and to help him learn quickly and have the possibility to have a good understanding with his team-mates.”"

Of course, Jamie Vardy could help Soyuncu more than anyone – that’s according to Puel and his subtle sense of humour.

"“I think he can learn a lot from Jamie, but I don’t know if they will be good words.”"

The merry times are back at the King Power Stadium for now, aren’t they? Two wins in two games, and suddenly, the narrative meter is pointing in Puel’s direction again. It’s not just the results, but what they have been achieved through that has silenced the critics for now.

The Frenchman has found a fluid attacking trio in Kelechi Iheanacho, James Maddison and Vardy, and there’s also Evans, who has shown signs of getting back to his best. With everything going so well, you’d think that a win against a lowly Newcastle United, placed 18th with four defeats and two draws, should be imminent.
