Ben Chilwell has heaped praise on Leicester City’s centre-back duo Harry Maguire and Wes Morgan, stating that “it is very hard to break us down”  when the two are on song.

Morgan and Maguire were both monumental in the 2-0 win over Newcastle United on Saturday, hardly giving the Magpies a sniff for a majority of the 90 minutes.

The Slab-Head also bagged his second goal of the season in the process to make it a comprehensive display. Watching all of it from the left side of the pitch was Chilwell – and boy was he impressed.

An awe-inspired Chilwell said:

"“We know how good Harry is and it is amazing he has started this season as well as he played last season and in the World Cup.“That is massive for us and he is a rock at the back.“He and Wes were immense and when they are both on it it is very hard to break us down.”"

Sleeping for the first 20 minutes or so – and paying a price for it – has been very typical of Leicester. It has cost them at least six points so far, a number that could quite easily have touched double figures.

Chilwell thus thinks that it was crucial for Leicester to start the game well at the St. James’ Park.

"“We were happy at the end there because this is not an easy place to come,” he said.“We knew if they got an early goal or started the game on top that their fans would be on us and get behind them, so it was vital we got off to a good start.“We got that early goal and that settled us down.“That has been the one part of our game we haven’t been the best at. We haven’t started games particularly well and we have gone behind in the majority of the games, which gives us a harder chance to win the game.“It was massive to keep a clean sheet and score the two goals.”"

Leicester have looked a different side in the last two weeks, especially at the back, but we’d only be able to gauge the level of improvement when they welcome Everton later this week, face Arsenal (away) after the international break, and host West Ham United a week after.

These are all the kind of sides that possess a wealth of attacking talents, and can cause serious problems to any defence when they are going well.

If you are Claude Puel, these are exactly the type of fixtures you’ll look to prove a point in.
