Claude Puel’s future at Leicester City is still uncertain as the Frenchman continues to try and convince the owners, according to The Sun.

The Leicester hierarchy is reportedly not happy with Puel, and that’s not exactly because of the results, but what they may have seen on the training ground. Apparently, whoever watched the players train didn’t see a pretty sight.

Of course, that takes us back to the question that we asked at the end of last season: has Puel really lost the dressing room? Are the players not responding anymore? The intermittent nature of the displays makes it very hard to tell.

Leicester have won four and lost as many in the league this season. Two of their wins are more or less a result of their luck, while as many defeats are a result of a lack of luck combined with profligacy.

The inconsistency does make a strong case for dissatisfaction, however, it shouldn’t really be a cause for sacking – not at the moment. The kind of squad that Puel has, and what he is trying to make them to do, it is all a long process which will take its time.

There are some serious rewards to be reaped when the process is complete. Leicester would be a team with an identity, flair and a philosophy that can help them achieve bigger things.

What is required for now is patience, both from the club’s officials and the fans. Not that Leicester are in a crisis anyway.
