James Maddison is loving life at the King Power Stadium, his transition from Championship starlet with Norwich to Leicester City playmaker was effortlessly seamless. He now says he made the correct decision in coming to the East Midlands.

Three goals and two assists in eight matches, is an almost immaculate fashion to begin your Premier League career. Naturally, at Leicester City this firmly establishes a player as an asset, fan favourite; and when a No.10 playmaker, it really furthers your profile internationally.

James Maddison fits the bill at the King Power Stadium. Leicester City had a stylish facilitator and game changer to replace Riyad Mahrez. Norwich City certainly supplied that, for the relatively bargain-basement price of, up to, £24m.

This Saturday, in an interview published by lcfc.com, the Foxes’ latest star man confirms his initial positive assessment of the club; including the perfect adjustment in adapting to the elite English division:

"“It’s been brilliant since I signed a few months ago, I’ve settled in so quickly and I feel at home here.“I’m definitely happy with my decision to come to Leicester City, I’ve started all the games and I’ve had a good return and long may that continue.“There’s so much competition for places here, it’s the Premier League, we’ve got such a talented squad. We’ve got so many good players in that dressing room.“It’s never easy to be a regular in the starting XI, but I’ve worked hard in pre-season and my performances have been relatively good, so I think I’ve been deserving of the starts.“I always believe in my own ability, that I can come to this level and have an effect.“I wouldn’t use the word easy, as you come up against some really tough opponents, but it’s been a step up and one I’ve relished.“Hopefully I can keep my form high and my performances good and we can carry it out for the rest of the season.”– James Maddison, speaking to  media (Via: lcfc.com)"

BBC Sport provide details on the former Coventry City trainee: “When Maddison started his career at Coventry, then managed by Steven Pressley, he could sometimes be found in the car park with a bucket in one hand and a sponge in the other.” A quite stunning transition now to Gareth Southgate’s England roster.

On the subject of the Three Lions; the 21-year-old told the Guardian he never wants to return to the Young Lions: “If it was up to me I’d never go back to the under-21s.” No disrespect is meant by the statement: it is simply an admission of vehement ambition. Admirable.

Pressley then explains how the academy and young players cleaned the dressing rooms and senior players’ boots. Building character, of course. Yet, the coach knew he had a technically superior player with innate world-class ability. Maddison was soon on loan at Aberdeen winning the Rangers game with a wonderful free-kick.

Next. Three positions where LCFC are stronger than Arsenal. dark

Leicester City visit Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium Monday; the attacking-midfielder acknowledges the Gunners’ application, style and form. However, he proclaims Claude Puel’s side will be gunning for three points. This will impress the Blue Army considerably.
