Leicester City are interested in Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, according to The Sun.

Newcastle United, who currently sit bottom of the Premier League table are also looking at the former Liverpool boss.

However, while Rodgers may want to come back to England at the end of the season, the Scottish champions’ demand of a mammoth £9 million compensation may put off both Leicester and Newcastle.

The Sun have previously reported that Claude Puel’s future at the King Power Stadium is increasingly uncertain.

The Leicester hierarchy is reportedly not happy with Puel, and that’s not exactly because of the results, but what they may have seen on the training ground. Apparently, whoever watched the players train didn’t see a pretty sight.

Of course, that takes us back to the question that we asked at the end of last season: has Puel really lost the dressing room? Are the players not responding anymore? The intermittent nature of the displays makes it very hard to tell.

Leicester have won four and lost as many in the league this season. Two of their wins are more or less a result of their luck, while as many defeats are a result of a lack of luck combined with profligacy.

Next. Filip Benkovic could return to Leicester City in January. dark

The inconsistency does make a strong case for dissatisfaction, however, it shouldn’t really be a cause for sacking – not at the moment. The kind of squad that Puel has, and what he is trying to make them to do, it is all a long process which will take its time.
