Leicester City will be vying for their first ever away win against Arsenal in the Premier League on Monday.

They will, however, need to probably produce the display of the season to be able to get the better of a side that is now on a run of nine consecutive wins in all competitions – their best since 2007. It would worry Claude Puel that the Gunners have netted 27 goals during that time at an average of three per game.

But then again, those wins have been tainted by a cavalcade of comical defensive showings as well, so there indeed is some hope in this one for Leicester. It’s not too tough an ask to find a way past a defence that includes Shkodran Mustafi, because there’s always a moment of madness just round the corner.

Of course – and it has been said a lot of times – Leicester’s own defence has the same blood running through their veins as the Gunners. They are an accident waiting to happen regardless of who they play at the moment, which makes it all the more important for them to take complete advantage of Arsenal’s erratic nature at the back.

This is going to be a goal fest, and Leicester have to ensure that they duly feast.

One to watch

Jamie Vardy has six goals in six Premier League starts against Arsenal, the sixth most by any player in the league. One more, and he’d be level with Dwight Yorke, Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink, Darren Bent, Nicolas Anelka and Harry Kane.

The 31-year old hasn’t quite been at his best this season, but a back four that’s very vulnerable on the break will give plenty of chances for him to be able to rediscover that ruthlessness in front of goal.

He got a brace the last time he visited the Emirates Stadium, and given the state of Arsenal’s defending, he should be on the scoresheet again.
