Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Puel: Claude Puel’s Job Security at Leicester City
Managing for his job
Excluding the games against Big Six opponents, Leicester City earned 12 points from six matches, winning four of them. The next six matches the Foxes will be playing are against teams out of the Big Six; five of them are below in the table.
These matches are against West Ham (14th, 7 points), Cardiff (17th, 5 points), Burnley (13th, 8 points), Brighton (12th, 11 points), Watford (7th, 16 points), and Fulham (18th, 5 points).
There is no doubt if Leicester under perform over the next six matches, Claude Puel will be in the hot seat. A conservative guess should have the Foxes gaining around 12 points. In all honesty, Leicester have the ability to gain points in each match, if not win all outright.
However, if the Foxes play below par during this stretch of games it may finally be enough for the Leicester City board to pull the trigger, sacking the 57-year-old.
Puel is a respectable manager and man, whom is conducting a solid job since becoming the gaffer. Although, the next six games will reveal if he is either ready to propel this team to the next level or if he is simply a stop-gap manager that has created a squad that can be elevated to the next level by a better boss.
