Another big game, another dominant Ben Chilwell display

Bossing the Old Trafford pitch in the opening day defeat to Manchester United augured well for Ben Chilwell. The Theatre of Dreams, that can so often guzzle the confidence of any player in the world, didn’t faze the 21-year old at all, and that was the night when we knew that this guy has a life-changing season ahead of him.

Two months later, he is an England international, has signed a contract extension with the club, and has offered another reminder of his jaw-dropping calibre with a performance to match against Arsenal at their own ground.

Chilwell was all over Hector Bellerin and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in that hair-raising first half, who had no clue whatsoever every single time the left-back got on the ball to maraud. Not once did it feel like Chilwell isn’t an experienced campaigner, and it was befitting when his strike took a deflection off Bellerin to give the guests the lead.

Like his teammates, Chilwell waned in the second half, but he can be forgiven for it.
