The Claude Puel project is beginning to take shape

Leicester City are starting to play some of the best football that the club has ever played, and all of the credit has to go to Claude Puel. The results, however, are a detraction from the progress that has so far been made. They mustn’t be.

When you’re doing something with a view to secure the future, you have to endure a lot of ignominious and truly disappointing moments. If the Leicester board and the fans can come to terms with this simple truth, then it’s the club that would be the eventual victor.

Investing in a manager’s philosophy might not be the de rigueur, but that doesn’t mean it’s not the right way. It is, and Liverpool are a testament to that, as are AFC Bournemouth and Tottenham Hotspur.

There is a lot of brouhaha over some bad results at the moment, which is understandable, but there’s no need for it – it’s all part and parcel of the process. Puel’s project is finally taking its shape, and it’s only a matter of time before Leicester make winning a habit.
