Leicester City players have returned to full training as they face Cardiff City this Saturday.

After their Carabao Cup clash against Southampton had been postponed, there were talks of the Premier League fixture being postponed, too; however, it was decided on Tuesday that the game will go on as scheduled.

The decision has the full backing of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha’s son, Aiyawatt, who wants that the game be played to honour his father.

Today’s training session must have been a strange one for Leicester, as will be their clash against Cardiff. It is natural to not be able to focus when you’ve gone through so much. You wouldn’t even want to talk, let alone play a game of football.

But the players will have to somehow recollect themselves. They need to go to the Cardiff City Stadium to play for Khun Vichai, the man who is responsible for all of what the club is today, and what a lot of Leicester’s players are today. They have an obligation to return the favour, and giving it their all this weekend is a part of that.

It’s not going to be easy at all for them – agreed – but one of the principles that Vichai has strengthened the foundations of the club with is that no matter what the scale of the task is, you must believe in yourself and carry on.

And that is exactly what Leicester must do. Wherever Vichai is, you can be certain that what he would want to see on the pitch is the spirit of the Foxes, not reluctant legs and broken hearts.
