Harry Maguire and James Maddison will both miss Leicester City’s Premier League clash against Burnley this weekend.

Both sustained knee injuries in the 1-0 win over Cardiff City last week, with Maguire’s injury being more serious.

As a result, the duo has also missed out on Gareth Southgate’s England squad to face Croatia and the USA, while, in other news, Ben Chilwell has made it.

Speaking ahead of the fixture on Saturday, manager Claude Puel said:

"“Harry will not be available for this game and for the national team also.“It will also be the same for Maddison, he is not available for this game.“All the other players in the squad, except (Daniel) Amartey and Matty James, will be available.“We will see after the international break if they can come back in the team. Maguire’s is a little more serious than Maddison’s. We will see.“Yes (it’s Maguire’s knee), from the Cardiff game. It will be a few weeks, we will make a point about his comeback after the international break. I do not have all the information about him.“(Maddison) feels something the day after the Cardiff game. It’s not too serious but he will not play this game. It’s his knee, damage in the ligaments behind his knee.”"

Maguire and Maddison’s absence will make what is already a tough task even more tougher, but there is hardly anyone who is bothered about the result of the game. The city of Leicester is still in state of a shock, and their side’s football quite clearly is last in the list of priorities.

Considering which, you’d say the international break couldn’t have come at a better time. Leicester’s players will get to spend some time away from club football, a change that they are in dire need of.

Even for the fans, the upcoming couple of weeks will be somewhat refreshing. There are a lot of encounters to be excited about, two of which, of course, include England. Their friendly against the USA should ideally of particular interest to anyone in the country, seeing as it’ll be the 120th and final time that Wayne Rooney will play for the Three Lions.

Southgate has picked a pretty strong squad to mark the occasion:

Goalkeepers
Alex McCarthy, Jordan Pickford, Marcus Bettinelli, Jack Butland.

Defenders
Michael Keane, Luke Shaw, John Stones, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben Chilwell, Lewis Dunk, Joe Gomez.

Midfielders
Jesse Lingard, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Harry Winks, Ross Barkley, Dele Alli, Fabian Delph, Eric Dier, Jordan Henderson.
